Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola would have signed Marcus Rashford if he had the chance.
Giggs was speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast.
According to the Welshman, he met Guardiola at dinner, where they discussed several football-related topics.
Giggs said: “I’ve gone to Pep and said, ‘You know, who do you like at United?’ He went, ‘Well, who do you think?’
“So I went, ‘De Gea?’ He went, ‘No.’ ‘Luke Shaw?’ ‘No.’”
He said the best player at Man United was Marcus Rashford.
“I would take him tomorrow,” Pep Guardiola told me.
“And that just made me [think], ‘What’s he seeing, Pep?’ And that was obviously as a centre-forward.”
Guardiola departed Manchester City this summer after a decade in charge, while Rashford returned to United following a season-long loan at Barcelona.
