Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray, 19, first court hearing was on Wednesday, May 8, facing a DUI charge along with other offenses. 

The charges stem from an incident on April 5, where Murray was pulled over near Vine Street and Antelope Valley Parkway for multiple traffic violations. 

According to the Lincoln Police Department (LPD), Murray’s blood alcohol content (BAC) level was recorded at 0.169%, well above the legal limit of 0.08% in Nebraska.

Additionally, LPD reported that Murray was in possession of a fake ID and failed to comply with officers’ instructions during the incident. 

Initially, Murray was cited and released on five charges, including DUI with a BAC over .15%, careless driving, minor in possession, fictitious license, and obstructing a peace officer. 

As a consequence of the incident, Murray was suspended for the spring match in Kearney that took place on Saturday, as confirmed by the university in a statement. 

The legal proceedings surrounding Murray’s case highlight the serious nature of the charges and the potential consequences she may face.
